Questions before you get started
What do SPF, DKIM, and DMARC do?
SPF checks authorized sending servers. DKIM uses digital signatures to help verify a message's domain and integrity. DMARC builds on aligned SPF or DKIM results to publish a domain policy and request reports. These mechanisms need to match legitimate email flows and cannot prevent every form of deception.
Can a stricter DMARC policy block messages?
Yes. Legitimate email can be affected if its sending systems are not configured correctly. We review sources and reports before tightening policy, using staged changes to identify effects and required adjustments.
Is a technical filter against phishing sufficient?
Technical features reduce certain risks, but they must be complemented by appropriate identity checks and reporting channels. Fraudulent requests can also arrive through legitimate accounts or other communication channels.
Can existing Microsoft 365 functions be used?
