Defining decision-making paths

A contingency plan identifies technical managers, management, communications, and required external support. Contact details and alternative communication channels should be available even if central services fail.

Practice realistic scenarios

A joint exercise can, for example, simulate the failure of an identity platform or suspicious encryption at a workstation. This involves decisions, responsibilities and the consequences for operations.

Prove restart

The return to normal operation requires verified safeguards, a controlled restart and documented releases. Findings from the exercise are recorded as concrete improvements with those responsible and deadlines.
