Does monitoring include fixing incidents?
Detection, evaluation and remediation are different tasks. The offer specifies which steps we take over and when your team or another service provider is responsible. Necessary access and approvals are clarified before the start.
Is round-the-clock monitoring included?
Continuous data collection and staffed response are specified separately. A system may collect signals around the clock while investigation and escalation follow agreed service hours. The contract describes the chosen model.
Can existing tools continue to be used?
Yes, as long as access, interfaces and maintainability match the agreed model. We check the existing structure and describe any necessary adjustments. A complete tool change is not a prerequisite.
What is the difference between logs, metrics, and traces?
Metrics show measurable states and developments. Logs document individual events. Traces track processes via components involved. Which data makes sense depends on the diagnostic questions and the technical capabilities of your application.
How do you reduce unnecessary alerts?
We look at meaning, frequency, dependencies and actual processing. Rules are revised with their purpose and the responsible recipient. The quality is checked on relevant events so that important information is preserved.
What data can be included in logs?
Data scope, access, masking, and retention are coordinated with your stakeholders. Applications should only log necessary information. Existing sensitive content is taken into account when planning collection and evaluation.
How are additional systems brought into the service?
An agreed change defines the signals, technical integration, service hours and owners. Alerts and diagnostic workflows are tested before handover. Additional implementation effort and recurring costs are set out clearly.
What costs determine the service?
The number of systems, data volume, retention, integrations and staff service times have an effect. Setup, ongoing support and additional changes are described in the offer. This allows you to adapt the scope specifically to your needs.
